Good Corporate Governance

SERTECPET®, as a multinational Ecuadorian company with worldwide presence, has developed a set of principles and standards that govern the proper functioning and integration of the departments, governing bodies, and decision making of the company, in this case: shareholders, board of directors and upper management.

Ethics Code

SERTECPET® is an industry of the energy and oil sector that has the highest quality standards, and international certifications and patents, attesting to its excellence and prestige. In order to meet the demands of the market, it has highly trained and specialized personnel in each work department.

 

Within its Compliance policy, it has developed a Code of Ethics, which governs the guidelines for proper behavior of its workers, shareholders, board of directors and upper management, inside and outside of the organization.

Anti-Corruption Policy

SERTECPET® established its Anti-Corruption Policy to govern the processes and actions of its workers when carrying out negotiations in any ambit. This policy fundamentally looks to comply with protocols and legal strategies, respect human and environmental rights, strengthen the reputation of the brand, and eradicate any anti-ethical behavior. 

COP

SERTECPET® issues an annual report with the activities performed or policies adopted to comply with or strengthen the 10 basic principles that govern the organization regarding its voluntary adoption of the Global Pact, through the Communication on Progress report.

Global Pact

SERTECPET® deems itself as a socially responsible industry, with strong corporate values and clear management, and zero tolerance for corruption. Thanks to the strong principles instilled as of its creation, it is voluntarily a part of the International Global Pact Network, which has 10 basic principles:

 

Human Rights:

Support and respect for the protection of human rights

Ensure that it is not complicit in human rights abuses

 

Labor Standards:

Uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.

Support the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor.

Support the effective abolition of child labor.

Support the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

 

Environment:

Support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.

Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.

Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

 

Anti-Corruption:
Business should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
